She treated her ‘World News Tonight' anchoring as an overwhelming victory for all Hispanics.
When selected to co-anchor the program, she said: ‘We're way overdue on a woman sitting in one of those Big Three chairs.'

She is the first person of Hispanic origin to be a lead network anchor.
