    (February 15, 1944- )
    Played with The Kinks (1963-1984)
Featured on hits such as 'You Really Got Me,' 'All Day And All Of The Night,' 'Tired Of Waiting For You,' 'Lola,' 'Sleepwalker,' and 'Come Dancing'
He was in the Rolling Stones in 1962, but was booted out in favor of Charlie Watts.
Mick was constantly at odds with Dave Davies.
During their first US tour in 1965, Dave antagonized Mick by knocking over one of his cymbal stands. This prompted Mick to smash Dave in the head with his hi-hat, breaking his nose and cancelling the concert.
As a result of this onstage fight, The Kinks were banned from playing in America until 1969.
He was forced out of the band by Dave's 'it's either him or me' ultimatum in 1984.
Ray has since said that the decision to let him go was a mistake.
Along with John Gosling and John Dalton, he plays with the Kast Off Kinks, who play at Kinks fan meetings and celebrations.
According to Ray, he had hands 'like steam shovels.'
Three years after his departure, he was mentioned in 'The Road,' from the live/studio album of the same name.
