    American lawyer and politician
    Served as Congressman from New Hampshire (1813-1817) and Massachusetts (1823-1827)
    Senator from Massachusetts (1827-1841), (1845-1850)
    U.S. Secretary of State (1841-1843), (1850-1852)
    Three-time presidential candidate

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a congressman for two different states.
    He was against universal suffrage.
    He remarried after his first wife died.
    He was a member of the Federalist and Whig parties.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was an eloquent speaker.
    He helped write several compromises to try and end the slavery debate.
    He declined an offer to be vice president in 1850, stating that he 'did not want to be buried early.'
    His son was a colonel who was killed in the Civil War.
