Authored the Supreme Court's 5-4 majority opinion that the U.S. Constitution grants same-sex couples the right to marry (June 26, 2015)

Why he might be annoying:

He rarely smiles, and when he does he looks terrifying.
Though undeniably handsome in those blast shield glasses, he is not a member of the Kennedy klan.
He references international law in his opinions.
Conservatives inexplicably called for his impeachment for siding with those who forbid capital punishment for juveniles.
Though considered conservative, he often sides with the liberals on the bench.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he joined the U.S. Court of Appeals, he became the youngest federal judge in the country (1975).
He was Ronald Reagan's third pick after Robert Bork and Douglas Ginsberg.
Despite being a Republican, he was accepted by a Democrat-dominated Senate.
He is described as being unassuming and friendly.
He has the ability to form unlikely alliances.
As a lawyer, he was known for hosting lavish parties for his clients.
He is left handed.
