Why she might be annoying:

She sang the jingle ‘Red Lobster for the seafood lover in you.’
She was reluctant to record on her own, noting ‘I was intent on being a back-up singer and staying that way.’
Fed up with people pronouncing her name as ‘Frick,’ she temporarily changed the spelling to ‘Frickie.’ (1986-88)
Coincidentally, shortly after the name change, her sales dropped off rapidly.

Why she might not be annoying:

Songs she sang back-up on included England Dan and John Ford Coley’s ‘I’d Really Love to See You Tonight’ and Elvis Presley’s ‘My Way.’
She was twice named female vocalist of the year by the Country Music Association (1982-83).
She lives on the former farm of Old West lawman Pat Garrett.
She established a scholarship for music students at Indiana University.
