The Resume

    (June 11, 1741-June 17, 1775)
    Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts
    Physician
President of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress (1774-75)
Fought at the Battles of Lexington and Concord
Commissioned as a major general in the colonial militia
Killed in action in the Battle of Bunker Hill

Why he might be annoying:

To commemorate the second anniversary of the Boston Massacre, he delivered a speech while wearing a toga.
A popular story that he learned of British plans to raid Concord from the wife of British General Thomas Gage is generally dismissed by modern historians as romantic twaddle.
He turned down the requests of General Israel Putnam and Colonel William Prescott to serve as the commander at Bunker Hill.

Why he might not be annoying:

He inoculated hundreds of Bostonians against smallpox, most notably John Adams.
He drafted the Suffolk Resolutions, which were endorsed by the Continental Congress (September 17, 1774), advocating resistance to Parliament's Coercive Acts.
He enlisted Paul Revere and Wiliam Dawes to spread the word that the British were planning to raid the colonial militia's weapons cache in Concord (April 18, 1775).
Arguing that Putnam had Prescott had more experience in war, he asked to serve as a private with the militia where the heaviest fighting was expected.
After the battle, his body was bayonetted until it was unrecognizable. (Ten months later, when his brothers had his body exhumed for reburial, his remains were identified by Paul Revere on the basis of an artificial tooth he had designed.)
Benedict Arnold gave $500 to support his orphaned children and petitioned the Continental Congress to provide half the salary of a major general for them until the youngest one became an adult.
