    Chris Bell (January 12, 1951-December 27, 1978), guitar and vocals
    Andy Hummel, bass guitar
    Jody Stephens, drums
    Reunited in 1993 with Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow replacing Bell and Hummel
    Recorded the albums '#1 Record' (1972), 'Radio City' (1974), 'Third/Sister Lovers' (recorded in 1974, released in 1978), 'Columbia: Live at Missouri University 4/25/93' (1993) and 'In Space' (2005)
    They took their name from a Memphis supermarket chain.
    Their first two records sold so poorly that their label refused to release their third album.
    Bell suffered depression and abused heroin.
    New Music Express named '3rd/Sister Lovers' the most depressing album of all time.
    All three studio albums recorded by the original line-up made Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums.
    They were a major influence on 80s power pop and new wave.
    Bell died in a car crash at age 27.
    Their song 'In the Street' was used as the theme for That 70s Show.
