After 'The Shining' she disappeared from the movies.
She was falsely rumored to be Mel Gibson's late mother.

Why she might not be annoying:

She had on heavy makeup and probably looked a lot better than she appeared in 'The Shining.'
Her legacy in life is playing a disgusting, diseased whore in a bathtub.
Many believe her scene to be one of the most terrifying parts of 'The Shining.'
She had a passionate, endearing laugh.
