    She was addicted to cocaine.
    She had silicon injected into her breasts because George Balanchine wanted her to look more like Suzanne Farrell.
    She was to be cast in the movie ‘The Turning Point’ (1977) but had to drop out because she was bulimic and anorexic.
    She left the American Ballet Theater after collapsing from ‘nervous exhaustion and potassium deficiency.’
    Mikhail Baryshnikov called her ‘The greatest ballerina of her generation.’
    Balanchine completely rechoreographed several ballets specifically for her.
    After receiving treatment for her drug addiction, she returned to the stage and gave a command performance for Queen Elizabeth II (1986).
