    Provided the voice of Aughra in 'The Dark Crystal' (1982)
    She began acting on radio at age 11.
    Despite a distinguished career, she is mainly known to movie audiences as the creepy nanny in 'The Omen.'
    She titled her autobiography 'Billie Whitelaw...Who He?'
    Samuel Beckett called her 'a perfect actress' and wrote several plays especially for her.
    A photo of her was used as the cover for the Smiths single 'William, It Was Really Nothing.'
    Her son convinced her to come out of retirement and appear in 'Hot Fuzz' after lending his flat to director Edgar Wright for his previous movie 'Shaun of the Dead.'
