Oddity

The Resume

    (circa 1968- )
    Born in United States
    Resided in Largo, Florida
Was required by an airline supervisor to change a shirt after boarding a Southwest Airlines flight due to the appearance of his clothing (October 7, 2007)

Why he might be annoying:

He boarded his flight wearing a T-shirt with the slogan 'Cptn. Jack Hoff Master Baiter Tackle Shop and Reel Repair' along with other suggestive wording printed on it.
He was sitting in the last row of the plane before the flight's take off when an airline supervisor instructed him to change his T-shirt, turn it inside-out or leave the plane.
Before changing into a different shirt, he argued that his free speech rights were being violated.
He changed his shirt mainly to avoid missing the flight, which would have caused him to miss a day's job wages.
He later complained about the circumstances regarding the incident to the media, saying 'It's really disappointing in this country when I can't travel from Ohio to Florida with the clothes on my back' and 'Who's to say what's offensive and what's not?'
His shirt's message was considered by some to be more inappropriate and offensive than Kyla Ebbert and Setara Qassim's flight attire.

Why he might not be annoying:

He indicated that he was embarrassed and uncomfortable about pressure from the supervisor, flight pilot and security guard to change his shirt.
He allegedly had to change his shirt in the presence of other passengers.
His suggestive T- shirt had advertised a fictional business.
He had received compliments regarding the same shirt from staff when he wore it on a previous Southwest Airlines flight.
Southwest Airlines stated that it has no official dress code but allows employees to address a passenger's outfit if it is considered questionable.
His situation indicated that the airline shows no gender bias regarding questionable passenger attire.
He received an apology from Southwest Airlines regarding the incident.
