Why he might be annoying:

He began performing on stage with his brother at age three.
He played spoons in a country band.
He recorded 'Sunny 76,' a disco remake of his big hit.

Why he might not be annoying:

His brother was killed in a knife fight outside a nightclub the day after John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
He wrote 'Sunny' in response to the two events, commenting, 'All my intentions were just to think of happier times -- basically looking for a brighter day -- because times were at a low tide.'
He toured with the Beatles.
In addition to his own songs, he wrote the Lou Rawls hit 'A Natural Man.' (1971)
