Stripper

The Resume

    (July 18, 1978- )
    Born in Durham, North Carolina
Student at North Carolina Central University
Claimed to have been assaulted and raped after performing at a party for members of the Duke University lacrosse team (March 13, 2006)

Why she might be annoying:

She was discharged from the US Navy after having an affair with another sailor and getting pregnant (1998).
While giving a customer a lap dance, she took the keys to his taxi, then stole the cab and led police on a high-speed chase that ended when she struck a patrol car (June, 2002).
She plead guilty to four misdemeanor charges: larceny, speeding to elude arrest, assaulting a government official and driving while intoxicated.
She did not make her accusations against the Duke players until she had been picked up for public intoxication and involuntarily placed in a mental health and substance abuse facility.
According to a security guard at the strip club where she worked, she said she was 'going to get money from some Duke boys at a party who hadn't paid her.'
According to '60 Minutes,' she gave over a dozen different stories about what happened.
Kim Roberts, who also performed at the party, called her accusations 'a crock.'
She claimed she had not had sex with anyone for a week before the alleged assault, but DNA tests found semen from at least five different men (none of them a match for any Duke lacrosse player) in her underwear.
She was charged with murdering her boyfriend after he died of stabbing related injuries (April 18, 2011).

Why she might not be annoying:

She had to go to court to force the father of her children to pay child support (2003).
At the time of the Duke allegations, she was studying police psychology and had a 3.0 grade point average.
When she and Roberts left the Duke party, one of the lacrosse players yelled, 'We asked for whites, not niggers.'
When MSNBC first aired photos of her, she said she was forced into 'virtual hiding.'
When State Attorney General Roy Cooper announced that charges would be dropped against the three Duke defendants (April 11, 2007), he said charges would not be brought against Mangum because she 'may actually believe' her accusations.
