Her first acting ambition was to be a B-western 'cow girl.'
She dropped out of college to join a 20th Century Fox program for training actors.
Her sole film credit was a bit part in 'The Boston Strangler.'
However that doesn't include the 'Rescue from Gilligan's Island' style TV movie she took part in with Raymond Burr - 'Ironside Returns' (incidentally her last credit).
Her role on Ironside materialized after the longtime regular Barbara Anderson left the show, resulting in a new 'token female' being needed.
She joked: 'Every once in a while I think I'll get a place of my own. But it's really very expensive. I know that's the biggest cop-out of all time. But I care for my parents and we really get on.'
The news of her death wasn't made public for nearly two weeks.
She attended Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles.
She was descended from San Fernando valley pioneers.
Her father - a 20th-Century Fox casting director - disapproved of her choice to become an actress, offering her no assistance as a result.
Her first screen role was in a Corn Flakes commercial opposite Jimmy Durante.
Her hobbies were painting and playing golf.
She beat out over 100 hopefuls auditioning for the role of Officer Fran Belding.
She claimed that her agent told her that she was failing to win roles because she came off as 'too stiff' during auditions.
So, for the Ironside audition, she said: 'Well, the next interview after that, I really was so embarrassed. I went into that office bouncing off the walls, being the jerk of the century. I felt so phony and I made a complete ass of myself. But I got the part and I have gotten every one since then!'
