The Resume

    (1952-1959)
Born in The Bronx, New York
    Carl Feaster, lead vocals
    Claude Feaster, baritone
    Jimmy Keyes, first tenor
    Floyd McRae, second tenor
    William ‘Ricky’ Edwards, bass
    Recorded the single ‘Sh-Boom’ (1954)

Why they might be annoying:

They got to record ‘Sh-Boom’ only because a fourth song was needed for their first recording session, with producer Jerry Wexler noting, ‘We thought it was just ineffable nonsense…. We had no idea it would be a seminal record.’
Another group called the Chords surfaced, forcing them to change their name, first to the Chordcats, then to the Sh-Booms, which did not help their career momentum.
    They were one-hit wonders.

Why they might not be annoying:

Along with ‘Earth Angel’ by the Penguins, ‘Sh-Boom’ was one of the first doo-wop songs to become a pop hit.
They lost sales and airplay thanks to a whitewashed cover of ‘Sh-Boom’ by the Crew Cuts.
It took years of legal battling with Atlantic Records for them to get paid royalties on ‘Sh-Boom.’
