Why they might be annoying:

Their music was part of a small United Kingdom study to see if unborn babies remember music heard in the mother’s womb.
Most of their music are remakes from other artist's songs.
In 1991, a 22 year old female fan sued lead singer Ali, claiming him to be the father of her baby.
In 1990, Christie Hynde got a divorce from her husband, sparking rumors that she had an affair with lead singer Ali.
They spent six months in a cellar learning how to play instruments (1978).
The band has been known to smoke cannabis.
    Ali had a drinking problem.

Why they might not be annoying:

'Red Red Wine' became a huge hit in the United States after they performed the song at the all-star Free Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley Stadium (June 11, 1988).
Some of the members of the band supposedly met while standing on the Unemployment Line in the UK (1978).
Chrissie Hynde of the musical group 'Pretenders' asked them to go on a UK music tour with her group (1980).
They were the first band not signed with a major record label to reach the top 10.
Their 1994 single, 'C'est La Vie' was inspired by a conversation they had with a Haitian woman who told them that she had seen someone in her country sell their baby for $20.
The group is still together after 25 years (2003).
