Why he might be annoying:

Some of his religious-themed strips (such as a 'B.C.' that implied Christianity had superseded Judaism) were pulled from several newspapers.
Why do cavemen living B.C. (Before Christ) know so much about Jesus anyway?
He was a creationist and said of evolution, 'The absurdity of it all is beyond reason.'
He became an evangelical Christian after talking to the father-son team installing his satellite dish.
Before becoming born-again, 'I got into things like Ouija boards and UFOs, ESP, astrology, psychics, séances, reincarnation, Edgar Cayce, the whole thing.'
The two main female characters in 'B.C.' are named 'Fat Broad' and 'Cute Chick.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to his wife Bobby Jane for 55 years until his death.
He began drawing cartoons for 'Stars and Stripes' while serving with the Air Force during the Korean War.
He said of his strip, 'The simpler you do things, the more genius is required to do it.'
He died at his storyboard.
