Why she might be annoying:

She served time for prostitution (1944).
Her first marriage ended within two years and her next two marriages broke up after less than six months.
Her fourth marriage was to Henry Graham, a career criminal, who introduced her to her accomplices.
She pistol whipped an elderly widow, then suffocated her with a pillow case.
The film 'I Want to Live!' implied that she was innocent, but star Susan Hayward later said her research led her to conclude Graham was guilty.

Why she might not be annoying:

When she was two, her teenaged mom was sent to reform school, leaving her to be raised by neighbors.
She said, 'If I have to spend the rest of my life in prison, I want it the way it is. I'll take the gas chamber Maybe that will be better for my kids.'
When a last-minute stay delayed her execution from 10:00 AM to 11:30, she asked, 'Why do they torture me? I was ready to go at ten.'
