Musicians
    (1980- )
Formed by Cy Curnin & Adam Woods in London as The Portraits
    1983 line-up:
Recorded 'Stand or Fall,' 'Red Skies,' 'One Thing Leads to Another,' 'Saved by Zero,' 'The Sign of Fire,' 'Are We Ourselves?,' 'Sunshine in the Shade,' 'Secret Separation,' 'Driven Out' and 'How Much Is Enough?'
Cy Curnin-lead vocals (December 12, 1957- , born in Wimbledon, England)
Adam Woods-drums (April 8, 1952- , born in Manchester, England)
Jamie West-Oram-guitar, vocals (February 19, 1954- , born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England)
Rupert Greenall-keyboards, accordion (March 30, 1950- , born in Wisbech, England)
    Dan K. Brown-bass (May 18, 1952- , born in London, England)
They changed their name to 'The Fix' in 1981, then found another group was using the name, so added an extra 'x' rather than go with something else.
Their original bassist quit after their first album.
After two hit singles from the debut album they never charted in the U.K. again.
    West-Oram and Woods are vegetarians.
Their record company dumped them in 1987 and they made one album each with two new companies, quitting each one afterwards and disbanding altogether in 1991.
Lead singer and lyricist Curnin lists David Bowie as a major influence.
'One Thing Leads to Another' reached #4 on Billboard's singles chart in 1983.
The album containing the song, 'Reach The Beach,' spawned two other Top 40 hits and went platinum.
Their 1991 recording effort came with a condition. The record company issued them songwriters for some cuts, infuriating the band to the point of quitting for seven years until they could have complete creative control.
As one member put it, it was nothing short of 'corporate attempts at pimping The Fixx to the pop charts.'
