Frequent guest on Late Night with David Letterman and ‘The Joe Franklin Show’

Why he might be annoying:

His first booking in the US was at a Tarpon Springs, Florida, nightclub owned by his brother.
He did commercials for New York Life and the New Hampshire state lottery.
Because of the similarity of his name to Kmart, Letterman constantly called him ‘the discount magician.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He performed at the Greek Pavilion and the Hall of Magic at the 1964 World’s Fair.
When a Late Night guest cancelled at the last minute, Letterman chose him over Mel Gibson as a replacement. (Back before Gibson’s drunken anti-Semitic ranting made him persona non grata.)
He has been married to Georgianna Kamarados for over fifty years.
