Why Dublin, Ireland might be annoying:

The English army's gunpowder store exploded, killing 200 Dubliners (1597).
Catholics were expelled from the city during the 1650s.
At the end of the 19th century, its Monto neighborhood was the British Empire's largest red light district.
It was the site of unsuccessful rebellions by the United Irishmen (1798), the Fenians (1867) and the Irish Volunteers (1916).
On Bloody Sunday (April 21, 1920), the IRA killed 18 British agents and the British retaliated by firing on a crowd at a Gaelic football match, killing 14 civilians.
Many of the city's historic Georgian buildings were destroyed in the name of urban development from the 1950s to the 80s.
