    (June 10, 1897-July 17, 1918)
    Born in Peterhof, Russian Federation
Full birth name was Her Imperial Highness the Grand Duchess Tatiana Nicholaevna Romanova of Russia
Second daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna of Russia
Siblings were Grand Duchesses Olga, Maria and Anastasia and His Royal Highness Alexei Romanov
Placed under house arrest with entire family by Bolshevik party revolutionaries (March 1917)
Executed with family by firing squad in the basement of the home where they were imprisoned at age 21
Made a saint (along with entire family) by the Russian Orthodox Church (2000)
She had several nicknames, including Tanya, Tatya,Tatianochka and Tanushka.
She hated being called Your Imperial Highness and once kicked a lady in waiting for addressing her as such.
She grew to be 5 feet, 10 inches, tallest in the family and two inches taller than her father.
She was the leader of the siblings, who jokingly called her 'The Governess.'
She was the most religious sibling and read her Bible regularly.
She was the sibling closest to her mother, who relied on her strength and her helping care for her hemophiliac brother Alexei.
She excelled at making clothing, embroidering and crocheting.
She volunteered to work at the Red Cross, along with sister Olga, treating wounded Russian soldiers during World War I.
A wounded soldier gave her a French bulldog as a gift, then replaced it when the first died (the dog was murdered along with her).
Her mother sensed that during their house arrest she was the only sibling that grasped the seriousness of their dilemma.
Without trial she was shot in the head by death squad leader Yakov Yurovsky in front of her sister Olga.
The 'Bond beauty' character in the 1963 James Bond movie 'From Russia with Love' was named Tatiana Romanova.
