    Head coach of Saskatchewan Roughriders (1978-79), Edmonton Eskimos (1991-97) and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1998-2003)
    His record as Roughriders head coach was 4-28.
    He took an 11 year absence before returning to coach the Eskimos.
    He basked in his past glory days when he was Riders head coach.
    He was head coach of the 2003 Tiger Cats team that won their only game of the season in week 13.
    He made some really bad trades when he became the Ti-Cats general manager.
    His CFL coaching career will be overshadowed by Don Matthews.
    As of 2008, he was fifth on the CFL's all-time coaching victories list.
    He turned the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from a perennial laughingstock to Grey Cup champions in a span of two seasons.
    He was the starting quarterback for the Roughriders when they won their first Grey Cup in franchise history (1966).
    He is considered a legend in the city of Regina.
    He passed Hugh Campbell as the winningest coach in Eskimos franchise history (1996).
