    AKA Peter Van Daan
Jewish boy that went into hiding with his parents and the Franks
A prime subject in 'Diary of Anne Frank'
    Love of Anne Frank
Anne's first impression of him was that he was lazy, boring and extremely touchy.
He died too young (Age 18).
    He named his cat Mouschi.
The car that transferred him and his hide-out mates was the last WW II train to transfer Jews to death camps.
For the first year and a half of hiding, he rarely spoke.
When finally chose to come out of his shell, he proved to be a very interesting person.
He enjoyed carpentry, crossword puzzles and playing with his cat.
The house he hid in (in Amsterdam) is now a historical landmark.
He and the seven others he hid with were discovered, arrested and taken to Westerbork (August 4, 1944) and then on to Auschwitz.
He was taken on a death march to Mauthausen where he died (May 5, 1945).
He is the subject of Anne Frank's story, 'My First Article.'
