She became a celebrity and is sought after for speaking engagements.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her husband Todd Beamer was a passenger on hijacked Flight 93, on September 11th. He, along with other passengers, brought the plane down in Pennsylvania saving many other lives.
She is widowed and is forced to bring up her two sons, David and Drew, alone.
She is able to take solace in knowing her husband died a hero.
She gave birth to their third child four months after his death (January 2002).
Her father died of an aneurysm when she was fifteen.
She started the Todd Beamer Foundation which helps children with family trauma.
