Why he might be annoying:

His trademark line is simply 'Oh my!'
He hosted the sappy Olympic segments called 'Enberg Moments.'
He portrayed sports announcers in several films.
He was given an honorary doctorate from Indiana University, even though he already earned a doctorate there.
His name sounds like male genitalia encased in a large mass of ice.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is one of the most recognizable sports announcers.
He gave a hilarious wide-eyed reaction to an outfielder's decapitation during 'The Naked Gun.'
He's the only person to win Emmys as a sportscaster, writer and producer.
Unlike Dr. Jack Ramsey, he's a sportscaster who is rarely addressed as 'doctor' on camera (though he could be).
He formed a legendary college basketball broadcasting team with Al McGuire and Billy Packer in the late 1970's.
He was the first American sportscaster to visit China (1973).
He got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1998).
