The Resume

Born in Staten Island, New York
Portrayed Walter on Ugly Betty and Stuart Bloom on The Big Bang Theory

Why he might be annoying:

While attending the College of Staten Island, he was surprised to bump into his older brother on his way to class: ‘Somehow we were both enrolled in the same school without the other knowing.’
He had to be written out of a couple of season eight ‘Big Bang’ episodes after he broke his leg in a bicycle accident.
He said one of the similarities between him and Stuart is ‘immense cheapness.’
He is typecast as geeks and nerds (to the point where the character he portrayed in ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’ was listed in the credits as ‘supernerd’).

Why he might not be annoying:

He studied acting with Uta Hagen for four years.
Art imitates life department: years before portraying comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, he worked at a comic book store.
He and fellow ‘Big Bang’ actor John Ross Bowie (who portrayed Barry Kripke) cowrote three TV pilots, one of which, ‘Dark Minions,’ was picked up by Amazon and adapted into a movie (2013).
Mayim Bialik said, ‘I learn a lot from him as an actor. He does a lot with a little and has an understated way of handling things that otherwise could be too much.’
