    He spent the bulk of his playing career in the Sun Belt, which contributed to his lack of recognition amongst the mainstream hockey pundits.
    His tenure with the Oilers lasted only nine games, before he was placed on waivers.
    He was involved in a lengthy contract dispute with the Sharks upon being drafted by the team.

    He worked as a stick boy for the Oilers, growing up in the nearby community of Fort Saskatchewan.
    He was the second player, behind Pat Falloon, to be drafted by the Sharks franchise.
    He was the last member of the inaugural Sharks roster to play in the NHL.
    He retired from the NHL as the leading scorer amongst the 1991 draft class.
    He is amongst a handful of NHL players to record 1000 career regular season points.
