Why New Haven, Connecticut might be annoying:

The entire city seems to revolve around Yale.
George W. Bush was born here.
Jim Morrison was arrested during a live Doors concert here, then wrote about it in their song 'Peace Frog.'
It often appears in lists of the most dangerous cities in the country, as high as fourth by Business Insider (2011).
A violent riot of 12,000 people occurred here when members of the Black Panthers were on trial for murder (1970).
There is a lot of bitterness between the Yale students and the city's residents.

Why New Haven, Connecticut might not be annoying:

It is home to one of the best universities in the country.
It is one of the first, if not the first, planned city in the United States.
It is the city where the hamburger and the cotton gin were invented.
It was the first city to have a planetarium, a telephone company, an assembly line, a medical diploma, a wireless radio station, a trolley line, an American steamboat, among other firsts.
It is a pioneer in the medical industry, with many of the first organ transplants and first use of anesthesia occurring here.
It is a very historic city that is able to keep up with modern times.
